In order to reduce cases of sudden baby death syndrome, the American Academy of Pediatrics has
stated that children should sleep with their parents in the similar room for at
least the first 6 months. It is also optional that they should not share the
same bed but should have their own. Studies show that in this way, the risk of
this disease is reduced by 50%. The exact reason accountable for SIMS is still
unknown, but examples show that children often die as a result of suffocation
